As a first time parent, I've found you learn a lot of new things very quickly. I've never been known as having a good memory, but I'm sure I will never make this mistake again. I think I will start to make a list of "Lessons Learned" as a record of the stupid things I've done that could possibly help out anyone that reads this blog, as well as to have a record just in case I forget and need to look back for reference.
So this past Tuesday, Noa came and picked me as usual from the train station after work and on the way home we thought we would check out some of the local restaurants on the way. When I first got in the car I noticed a package of Dove Chocolate on the floor in the back seat. (you know, the kind they have at the check-out counters at Wal-Mart or the grocery store.)
Because it had been sitting in the car, the heat had melted it into one little tube of chocolate. It was in a plastic sealed wrapper and I didn't even think twice before giving it to Mac to play with.
So we left the station and on the way we stopped at one of the restaurants and I ran in to grab a menu. When I got back into the car, Noa and I were looking to see what that particular restaurant had to offer when Noa said, "Do you smell chocolate?" Our first reaction was to look back at Mac and sure enough he had squeezed the package so hard that it had exploded all over his hands and new Eddie Bauer car seat that Grandma Peters helped us get for Mac's birthday.
He had no interest in eating it, I don't even think he realized what was going on until Noa and I started freaking out because there was chocolate everywhere. He was just having a good time playing, minding his own business. Of course we couldn't get mad at him (the blame was to be put on someone else...me) and eventually we just laughed at what had happened and hurried home.
So obviously we didn't get anything to eat, we just rushed home to try and wash everything before it was too late. We didn't even have time to take a picture because we were so panicked. I was busy holding Mac's hands down so he didn't get more chocolate all over the car seat, Noa was driving, and by the time we got home we just rushed inside and washed everything. The car seat is okay, Mac's was fine, and I've learned never to give chocolate to him while he's sitting in his car seat.

I just need to start this dumb blog.
Well, we're coming quickly upon our four month mark here in New York and I haven't once updated this dang blog. I've started writing new posts numerous times but have never finished them. So...I am just going to take the good advice my wife keeps on giving me to "Just Do It" and write. Nothing long, nothing profound, just a couple thoughts and maybe a picture or two and that's it.
Bye the way, if you would like to check out Noa's blog, here is the link to it. I'm not sure if the hyperlink to it will work or not, but you should go check it out. She does a really good job of keeping things nice and updated: http://ameblo.jp/cnninutah/
Saturday was a busy day, but we did find a little time to go play on the Carousel here on Staten Island. It's $1.50 a ride, and Mac loved it so much he had to do it twice. Once with Dad and once with Mom.
